Fernanda Alves

Fernanda Alves, born on June 29, 1985, in São Joaquim da Barra, São Paulo, Brazil, has established herself as a significant figure in Brazilian volleyball. Her career began early, playing for Fluminense FC from 1999 to 2001, followed by ACF/Campos until 2004. In 2004-2005, she played for São Caetano, leading to her participation with the Brazil women’s national volleyball team in 2005. During this period, Alves contributed to Brazil’s gold medal wins at the 2005 FIVB Women’s World Grand Champions Cup and the 2005 Women’s South American Volleyball Championship, showcasing her capabilities as an opposite spiker.

Her career further diversified into beach volleyball, where she achieved a silver medal at the 2015 Beach Volleyball World Championships in The Hague. Alves partnered with Barbara Seixas, and together they secured the Beach Volleyball Major Series Champion Trophy in 2018 at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This partnership, which debuted in the 2016-2017 Brazilian National Tour, became a formidable force in the sport. Fernanda Alves also competed in the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships. Her team achieved a silver prize at the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, for 4×4 beach volleyball.

Throughout her career, Alves has also played for various clubs globally, including Brasil Telecom (2005–2006), Pinheiros (2006–2007), Daejeon KGC in South Korea (2007–2008), Pallavolo Cesena in Italy (2008–2010), Sport Recife (2009–2010), Praia Clube (2010–2011), and Vôlei Futuro (2011–2012). Her progression from indoor to beach volleyball, and her international club experience, highlight her adaptability and enduring commitment to the sport.
