Fernanda Alves

Fernanda Alves is a decorated Brazilian volleyball player, celebrated for her achievements in both indoor and beach volleyball and her consistent performance at international competitions. After contributing to Brazil’s gold medal wins at the 2005 FIVB Women’s World Grand Champions Cup and the 2005 Women’s South American Volleyball Championship, Fernanda Alves established herself as a formidable opposite spiker for the Brazil women’s national volleyball team. Her professional journey began with Fluminense FC from 1999 to 2001, followed by a tenure at ACF/Campos until 2004. In 2004-2005, she played for São Caetano, a period that directly preceded her call-up to the national team in 2005, solidifying her early career as a decorated indoor volleyball player.

Complementing her national and beach volleyball career, Alves gained extensive international club experience. She played for Brasil Telecom from 2005–2006 and Pinheiros from 2006–2007. Her global reach expanded with a move to South Korea, joining Daejeon KGC for the 2007–2008 season, followed by a two-year stint with Pallavolo Cesena in Italy from 2008–2010. During this period, she also represented Sport Recife from 2009–2010, Praia Clube from 2010–2011, and Vôlei Futuro from 2011–2012.

These diverse club engagements across multiple continents underscore her adaptability and consistent high-level performance. Most recently, Fernanda Alves continued her strong performance on the international stage, earning a silver prize at the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, where she competed in 4×4 beach volleyball. Her career trajectory from elite indoor competitor to a highly decorated beach volleyball athlete demonstrates remarkable versatility and enduring commitment. With a track record of gold and silver medals at global championships, combined with extensive international club play, Alves remains a compelling figure, known for her consistent contributions to top-tier teams and her ability to excel across different formats of the sport.
