Her early interest in performing led her to participate in local theater productions, including starring as “Madeline” in “Madeline’s Rescue” at eight years old and “Jenny” in “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.” In 2008, her family relocated to Los Angeles to support her acting career. She quickly secured roles despite the prevailing Writers Guild of America strike, with her first commercial for the “Aquarium of the Pacific” leading to broader recognition within the entertainment industry. In 2009, she garnered a series regular role on the ABC series “Surviving Suburbia,” where she filmed 13 episodes.
Following her work on “Surviving Suburbia,” Hannelius’s visibility led to her being cast in various Disney Channel projects between 2009 and 2012. She appeared in popular series such as “Sonny with a Chance,” “Hannah Montana,” “I’m in the Band,” and “Good Luck Charlie.” She also featured in the Disney Channel original movie “Den Brother” and the Disney Channel’s “Leo Little’s Big Show.” Her voice acting contributions include roles as “Rosebud” in Disney’s “Treasure Buddies” and “Spooky Buddies,” and “Charity” in “Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups,” for which she won a Young Artist Award in 2012.
