George Carpenter

George Carpenter is a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter with a background in collegiate wrestling, known for his submission victories. After securing five submission victories in his amateur career, George Carpenter made a dominant professional Mixed Martial Arts debut, quickly establishing himself as a formidable lightweight fighter. Competing out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Carpenter commenced his professional journey on September 30, 2023, at NWFA: Southern Showdown, where he swiftly defeated Steve Guarino via first-round submission (rear-naked choke). He continued this impressive run on December 03, 2023, at Fury FC 84, securing another third-round submission victory (rear-naked choke) against Donevin Manuel.

Following his time at Penn State, Carpenter transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) as a graduate student, wrestling at 157 lbs during the 2019-2020 season. At UTC, he achieved a 4-7 record and distinguished himself academically, earning recognition on the Dean’s List, A.D. Honor Roll, and SoCon Honor Roll while pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Before his collegiate career, Carpenter demonstrated exceptional athletic talent during his high school years.

He was a four-year starter and three-year team captain in wrestling, achieving a state title as a junior and a third-place finish in his senior season. His leadership was pivotal in guiding his wrestling team to a conference title during the 2013-2014 season. Concurrently, he earned letters in football and track, contributing to the Jaguar football squad’s conference and regional titles in 2013-2014. Currently affiliated with Militia MMA, George Carpenter is recognized for his disciplined approach and proven ability to finish fights with submission victories.

His combined amateur and professional record underscores his potential as a rising force in the lightweight division, making him a compelling talent with a solid foundation of competitive success and academic achievement.
