George Carpenter

George Carpenter was born on November 5, 1995, in the United States. He began his athletic career in wrestling, attending Carrboro High School in North Carolina where he was a four-year starter and team captain for three years. During his high school career, he won a state title as a junior and finished third in his senior season. He also earned letters in football and track, helping his wrestling team to a conference title and the Jaguar football squad to conference and regional titles in 2013-2014. After high school, Carpenter continued his wrestling career at Penn State, competing for three seasons from 2016 to 2018. Over this period, he compiled a record of 14-28.

After his time at Penn State, Carpenter transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) as a graduate student, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health. In his one season at UTC in 2019-2020, he wrestled at 157 lbs and achieved a 4-7 record, earning recognition on the Dean’s List, A.D. Honor Roll, and SoCon Honor Roll.

Transitioning to professional Mixed Martial Arts, George Carpenter has established a record of 2-0-0 as a lightweight fighter, competing out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and affiliated with Militia MMA. His professional debut fight was on September 30, 2023, at NWFA: Southern Showdown, where he secured a victory via submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round against Steve Guarino. He followed this with another submission victory (rear-naked choke) in the third round against Donevin Manuel at Fury FC 84 on December 03, 2023. Prior to his professional career, Carpenter also competed as an amateur, achieving five submission victories in various events, including Aries Fight Series and Conflict MMA, from April 2022 to October 2022.
