After securing five submission victories in his amateur career, George Carpenter made a dominant professional Mixed Martial Arts debut, quickly establishing himself as a formidable lightweight fighter. Competing out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Carpenter commenced his professional journey on September 30, 2023, at NWFA: Southern Showdown, where he swiftly defeated Steve Guarino via first-round submission (rear-naked choke). He continued this impressive run on December 03, 2023, at Fury FC 84, securing another third-round submission victory (rear-naked choke) against Donevin Manuel.
Following his time at Penn State, Carpenter transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) as a graduate student, wrestling at 157 lbs during the 2019-2020 season.
