About

Grace Leer, a native of Northern California, began her singing career at the age of six. During her formative years, she performed across the Bay Area while also maintaining an active role in competitive soccer. She received a soccer scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley, where she played Division 1 soccer. Leer served as team captain in her senior year and contributed to her team’s qualification for the NCAA tournament each of her four years. After earning her degree from Berkeley, Leer relocated to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. For four years, she balanced a full-time sales position with songwriting and performing.

In 2020, Leer auditioned for Season 18 of American Idol. Her performance of “Natural Woman” during the Top 40 Showcase led to her advancement to the Top 10. Following her participation in American Idol, Leer secured a record and publishing deal with 19 Entertainment/Industrial Media, a management deal with Red Light Management, a publishing deal with Empire Publishing, and a booking agreement with UTA. She made her debut at the Ryman Auditorium in November 2020. Leer focused on songwriting collaborations in Nashville, leading to the release of her debut EP in 2021, produced by Dan Fernandez and Jared Hampton. This project incorporated elements of her California heritage and 90s country music influences. She continues to perform and write music, with additional releases planned.

Demonstrating an interest in acting and filmmaking, Leer made her acting debut in November 2023. She appeared in the supporting role of Riley in the Hallmark Film, “Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas.” This film was broadcast throughout the holiday season. Concurrent with her acting role, Leer wrote, recorded, and released the song “Star on Top of The Tree,” which was included in several holiday playlists and featured in the Hallmark Film. Leer is preparing for further music releases and potential filmmaking projects in 2024 and 2025.
