Herman Terrado was born on September 27, 1989, in Barrigada, Guam. His athletic journey began with bodybuilding at age 11, where he achieved success in several competitions. During high school, Terrado excelled in wrestling, securing gold medals in his junior and senior seasons. Following graduation, he transitioned to mixed martial arts (MMA) training.
Terrado commenced his professional MMA career on March 8, 2008, facing Bobby Green at COF 11: No Mercy, where he experienced a loss via guillotine choke submission. Despite this initial outcome, he competed in various promotions across the United States. Notably, he maintained an undefeated record of 3–0 in Gladiator Challenge. After accumulating a professional MMA record of 7–2 on the regional circuit, Terrado signed with Strikeforce in 2008. His debut with Strikeforce occurred on April 9, 2011, at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley, where he defeated A.J. Matthews by TKO in the first round. He continued his success in Strikeforce, securing a submission victory over Chris Brown via armbar on December 17, 2011, at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal.
His career then progressed to Bellator MMA, where he was slated to participate in the Bellator Season Nine Welterweight Tournament in 2013. He faced Rick Hawn, losing by unanimous decision. A subsequent fight at Bellator 115 in April 2014 against Justin Baesman resulted in a majority draw, after which Terrado received a nine-month suspension and fine from The Nevada State Athletic Commission due to a positive test for Drostanolone Metabolites. After a period on the California regional circuit, where he achieved a 3–0 record, Terrado joined the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in June 2017. He earned a split decision victory over João Zeferino at PFL Daytona. Terrado later returned to Bellator MMA for bouts against Mukhamed Berkhamov in 2023 and Masayuki Kikuiri in 2024, experiencing losses in both. Additionally, Terrado holds a BJJ Black Belt and is the owner of Gamebred Training Center, which was established in 2017.
