Elite level keeper – Jack Butland, is an English professional footballer who plays for established Premier League club Crystal Palace. Amazingly, he was part of the England squad at UEFA Euro 2012 before he was 20, and later that year was the first-choice goalkeeper for the Great Britain team at the Summer Olympics, showcasing the raw talent that Butland has. He also became the youngest goalkeeper to play for the senior England team when he made his shock debut in 2012. When at his beloved Stoke, Butland won Player of the Year twice for the club and England Under-21 Player of the Year.
The keeping giant began his career with Birmingham City. After going out on loan to gain valuable experience, Butland established himself as first choice keeper at Birmingham, where he drew the attention of Premier League club Stoke City, and signed in 2013 for a fee of £3.3 million. Still at such a young age, Butland went back out on loan until he became Stoke’s number one choice in the 2015–16 season. Butland spent seven seasons at Stoke, becoming a club legend in the process. He went on to join London powerhouse Crystal Palace in 2020.
Now back in the Premier League with Palace, Butland is once again showing why he started for the England National Team at such a young age. With still plenty of years left performing in the big league, we could see Butland once again featuring for the Three Lions.
