James Harris, along with his business partner David Parnes, were prominent agents at The Agency for over a decade. They contributed significantly to the firm's legacy, achieving numerous milestones and high-value sales before their departure.
Born and raised in London, England, James Harris began his entrepreneurial career at 16, working as a residential investment agent in the United Kingdom. Seeking new opportunities and drawn to the California climate, Harris moved to Los Angeles. There, he established himself in the high-end residential real estate market. He built a successful partnership with David Parnes, specializing in luxury properties and investment opportunities across exclusive Los Angeles neighborhoods including Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Sunset Strip, Hollywood Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu.
Harris and Parnes developed a straightforward approach to real estate transactions, cultivating a broad network of high-net-worth international and domestic clients. This strategy contributed to their sustained sales growth, achieving over $2 billion in sales since 2017. Throughout his career, Harris has been involved in several landmark sales, including representing the seller in the 2019 sale of 594 S. Mapleton in Holmby Hills, known as The Manor, for $120 million. This transaction set a record for the highest sale in Holmby Hills, the fourth highest in Los Angeles County, and the sixth highest in U.S. history. In the same year, he and his partner represented the seller in the $72.5 million sale of a Beverly Hills property, which was the highest sale in Beverly Hills history at the time. Other notable achievements include the highest sale in the Beverly Flats for $32.3 million in 2019, and the highest sale in the Hollywood Hills/Sunset Strip since 2012 for $35.5 million. In 2024, James Harris and David Parnes transitioned their business from The Agency to Carolwood Estates, continuing their focus on ultra-luxury real estate.
