Lila Ibrahim is the COO of Google DeepMind, leading strategy and operations for a world-renowned AI research company. After assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer for Google DeepMind in 2018, Lila Ibrahim has been instrumental in leading strategy and operations for the world-renowned AI research company. Her current leadership encompasses critical functions including Governance and Ethics, Policy, Communications, and People & Culture, spearheading initiatives at the intersection of AI and society. Ibrahim’s distinguished career spans over three decades in the technology sector, commencing in 1993 at Intel.

She later served as Chief Business and Operating Officer until 2017. Solidifying her influence in education and innovation, she was appointed to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2014. Committed to social impact, Ibrahim is also the co-founder and Chair of Team4Tech, an education technology non-profit.

In 2021, her engineering foundation was celebrated by Purdue University, which honored her as a Distinguished Engineering Alumnae. Most recently, in 2023, Time magazine recognized Lila Ibrahim among the 100 Most Influential People in AI, underscoring her significance in shaping AI’s future.
