Jaxson Ryker, also known as Chad Lail, is a distinguished professional wrestler and a United States Marine Corps veteran who has transitioned his career to public service as a police officer, bringing a unique blend of discipline, resilience, and experience to both entertainment and civic duties. After serving with distinction as a machine gunner in the United States Marine Corps during the Iraq War from 2002 to 2006, achieving the rank of sergeant, Chad Lail, known professionally as Jaxson Ryker, established himself in the world of professional wrestling. Debuting in 2001, Lail initially competed under the names Phil Shatter and Shatter for various independent promotions. He notably joined NWA Anarchy from 2006 to 2014, where his dominance led to significant championship reigns, including capturing the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Championship in 2006 and the NWA National Heavyweight Championship in 2009, cementing his reputation in the wrestling community.

In a pivotal career transition, Lail officially retired from professional wrestling in August 2023, channeling his discipline and commitment into a new avenue of public service. On September 14, 2023, he was sworn in as a deputy sheriff for the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina.
