Jay Ryan

Jay Ryan is an acclaimed actor known for his diverse roles across film and television, including lead characters in ‘Beauty & the Beast’ and ‘It Chapter Two’, alongside a robust career in theatre. After establishing a robust career in Australian and New Zealand television, Jay Ryan secured a guest role in Steven Spielberg’s US series ‘Terra Nova’ in 2011, quickly followed by his breakout performance as the male lead Vincent Keller opposite Kristin Kreuk in The CW series ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2012–2016). Earlier in his career, Ryan gained recognition for his role as Jack Scully in Network Ten’s ‘Neighbours’ (2002–2005) and later as Seaman Billy ‘Spider’ Webb in the Nine Network’s ‘Sea Patrol’ (2007–2009). He further solidified his presence in the New Zealand series ‘Go Girls’ from 2009 to 2012.

A significant milestone in his film career was his portrayal of the adult Ben Hanscom in the highly successful 2019 horror film ‘It Chapter Two,’ based on Stephen King’s novel. He later featured as Gallagher in ‘Muru’ (2022), Byron Swift in the 2023 series ‘Scrublands,’ and Aaron in ‘No Escape’ (2023). Looking ahead, Ryan is set to appear as Campbell Miller in the upcoming series ‘Territory’ in 2024 and Alistair in ‘North of North’ slated for 2025. He will also portray Myles Graff in ‘Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent,’ which is also scheduled for release in 2025, further cementing his versatile career across film and television.
