Boog Sciambi

Boog Sciambi’s distinguished career in sports broadcasting began as an announcer for the Florida Marlins, where he provided play-by-play commentary from 1997 to 2004. He then served as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves on SportSouth and FSN South from 2007 to 2009, often collaborating with analyst Joe Simpson. Sciambi also contributed to South Florida sports radio on 790 The Ticket and WQAM, establishing his versatile voice across multiple platforms. In 2010, Sciambi joined ESPN full-time, rapidly becoming a prominent voice for Major League Baseball and college basketball broadcasts.

He notably became the definitive voice of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball for MLB on ESPN Radio, a highly visible role he has held since 2010, and a regular play-by-play commentator for Wednesday Night Baseball telecasts on ESPN since 2014. His consistent presence across national platforms solidified his reputation as a leading play-by-play talent. In 2021, Sciambi took on the role of everyday play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs TV broadcasts on Marquee Sports Network, significantly expanding his presence within a major market. Concurrently, he maintained a significant presence with ESPN, calling regular and postseason games on ESPN Radio.

In October 2022, ESPN announced Sciambi would assume the lead announcer position for ESPN Radio’s highly-anticipated postseason coverage, commencing with the 2023 season. Beyond live broadcast, Sciambi has lent his distinctive voice to the MLB: The Show video game series as its main play-by-play commentator, starting with MLB The Show 22 and continuing with MLB The Show 23 alongside former MLB player Chris Singleton. Further demonstrating his commitment beyond sports, Sciambi co-founded Project Main St. in 2006, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with ALS and advancing research.
