United States Boog Sciambi is a prominent American sportscaster known for his play-by-play commentary for MLB games across ESPN, ESPN Radio, and the Marquee Sports Network.

Boog Sciambi succeeded Matt Vasgersian as the main play-by-play voice for the MLB: The Show video game series starting with MLB The Show 22. He performed play-by-play calls for MLB The Show 23 alongside former MLB player Chris Singleton.
Boog Sciambi is on the Board of Directors for Project Main St., a charity founded in 2006 with his childhood friend Tim Sheehy to provide financial assistance to individuals living with ALS.
Jon “Boog” Sciambi, born on April 11, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, developed his passion for sportscasting early in life. He grew up on Roosevelt Island in New York City and attended Regis High School. His broadcasting career began at Boston College, where he honed his skills on WZBC, the school’s FM radio station. During his time at WZBC, he was alongside future successful sports announcers Joe Tessitore and Bob Wischusen.
Sciambi’s professional career in baseball commentary started with the Florida Marlins, where he served as an announcer from 1997 to 2004. Following this, he became the lead play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves on SportSouth and FSN South from 2007 to 2009, often paired with Joe Simpson. He also worked in South Florida sports radio on 790 The Ticket and WQAM, discussing sports before transitioning to a full-time role with ESPN in 2010. At ESPN, he covered Major League Baseball and college basketball, notably becoming the voice of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball for MLB on ESPN Radio and a regular for Wednesday Night Baseball telecasts.
In 2021, Sciambi transitioned to become the everyday play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs TV broadcasts on Marquee Sports Network, while still maintaining a significant presence with ESPN, including calling postseason games on ESPN Radio. In October 2022, it was announced he would take over as the lead announcer for ESPN Radio’s postseason coverage starting in the 2023 season. He also took on the role of main play-by-play voice for the MLB: The Show video game series, beginning with MLB The Show 22, working with former MLB player Chris Singleton for MLB The Show 23. Beyond his broadcasting career, Sciambi is actively involved in philanthropy, co-founding Project Main St. in 2006 to support individuals with ALS.
