His fanbase knows American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and director, Jeff Ross as the Roastmaster General alongside his TV and film appearances.
After beginning his stand up career performing at the Boston Comedy Club in 1994, Ross was soon a regular at comedy clubs across New York City, including the Comedy Cellar, Stand Up NY and the Friars Club. It was at the Friars Club where Ross later gained his title, of the Roastmaster General and where he went on to make his first televised appearance during 1998, in a roast of the actor Drew Carey for Comedy Central. Since then Ross has been a writer on Jimmy Kimmel’s The Man Show and a regular roaster on Comedy Centrals roasts. Following his immense success as a stand-up comedian, Ross has enjoyed tours across the US, published his debut book in 2009, I Only Roast the Ones I Love and is the creator and host of his popular panel show, The Burn with Jeff Ross. Of his TV and film work, Ross has featured in several hit films, including Stuck on You, Along Came Polly and The Emoji Movie. He has also appeared in popular TV series CSI, American Dad! and Crashing. Of Ross’ other television work, he has appeared as himself in a variety of programmes, most recently, Netflix series Historical Roasts.
Having been widely praised for his talent, in 2006 Ross’ documentary Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie won the best film at the Comedia Film Festival in Montreal.
