Jeff Teat

Jeffrey Steven Teat, born on April 30, 1997, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, developed his lacrosse skills early, playing five seasons at The Hill Academy and Junior A lacrosse for the Brampton Excelsiors. In his final Junior A season, he recorded 145 regular season points, a total unmatched since 1994, and finished with 211 points including playoffs. His collegiate career at Cornell University began in 2016, where he was ranked the number one recruit by Inside Lacrosse. Despite his senior season being shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic, Teat became a three-time USILA All-American and a two-time Tewaaraton Award nominee, ultimately graduating third all-time in assists and points at Cornell.

Teat transitioned to professional lacrosse, where he was a first overall pick in both the NLL and PLL drafts, a distinction shared by only four other players. He was drafted by the New York Riptide in the 2020 NLL Draft and made his debut in the 2022 season, setting rookie records for assists and points. He continued to excel, leading the NLL with 56 goals in 2023 and finishing third in MVP voting. In the Premier Lacrosse League, after being drafted first overall by Atlas Lacrosse Club in 2021, Teat was named Rookie of the Year. He broke the PLL single-season points record in 2024, earning him the league MVP title. In 2025, Teat played a key role in the New York Atlas’s first PLL Championship, where he was named the championship game MVP for his six-point performance.
