Jensen Huang, co-founder, President, and CEO of Nvidia, a global leader in graphics processing units (GPUs) and artificial intelligence, began his professional journey after earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University in 1984. He further distinguished his academic profile with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1992. Huang’s early career as a microchip designer at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) laid the groundwork for his expertise in semiconductor design. He then advanced to LSI Logic as a technical officer, where he collaborated with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem on the ‘GX graphics engine.’ This pivotal project, finalized in 1989, significantly increased Sun Microsystems’ revenue and underscored Huang’s contributions, leading to his role as Director of CoreWare at LSI Logic.
In 1993, Huang co-founded Nvidia with Malachowsky and Priem, immediately assuming the roles of President and CEO from the company’s inception. Under his leadership, Nvidia navigated critical early financial challenges, notably surviving with just one month of payroll before the successful launch of the RIVA 128 graphics chip in 1997. This breakthrough marked a turning point for the company, which subsequently went public in 1999. Huang has since masterfully guided Nvidia’s evolution from a company focused primarily on gaming GPUs to a dominant force across high-performance computing and cutting-edge artificial intelligence.
Continuing to drive innovation and shape industry dialogue, Huang delivered a keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2025, where he announced the highly anticipated GeForce RTX 50-series. The same year, he delivered another impactful keynote address at Computex and was honored as a guest of honor at the World Masters Games, further solidifying his position as a leading figure in technology and beyond.
