Urb was born in Tallinn, Estonia’s capital city in 1977. After spending his early teenage years in Finland, Urb relocated to American in the mid-1990s and began working as a model in New York City. In his spare time, he began attending the city’s Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute. He got his first break in 2001 with a minor part in Zoolander, a Ben Stiller-directed comedy. Since then, he has barely been away from the camera. His first major television role came in 2004 when he was one of the main cast of The Mountain, a drama series that also starred the likes of Penn Badgley and Oliver Hudson. His first major film role came in 2008 with The Hottie and The Nottie, a rom-com starring Paris Hilton.
The following year, he became one of the stars of Eastwick, an ABC comedy-drama based on the classic novel, The Witches of Eastwick. Despite only running for one season, the show had an audience of millions and remains a firm favourite with fans of occult-themed TV.
Urb is always adding new strings to his bow. In 2017, he appeared in Arrow, a superhero series inspired by the DC Comics character Green Arrow. In 2019, he voiced a character in a new video game, Sync.
