John Becker’s coaching career commenced in 1994 as an Assistant Coach at Gallaudet University, where he was subsequently promoted to Head Coach, serving from 1997 to 1999. After pursuing a master’s degree in information systems at George Washington University, he returned to the collegiate ranks in 2004 as an Assistant Coach at Catholic University. In 2006, Becker transitioned to the University of Vermont, beginning as Director of Basketball Operations for two seasons. He went on to become the first coach in America East history to post three-straight 20-win seasons in his first three seasons by 2013-14.
In 2023, he also recorded his 150th win in America East play, continuing to lead teams that consistently rank among national leaders in scoring defense and field-goal percentage defense.
