American journalist John Dickerson works as a reporter for CBS News. He is responsible for hosting “CBS News Prime Time with John Dickerson” on the network of the news division. In the past, he has appeared on 60 Minutes and the CBS News election specials. Most recently, he co-hosted CBS This Morning with Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell. Up until Norah O’Donnell took over as anchor in the summer of 2019, he worked as an interim anchor for the CBS Evening News. Previously, he held the positions of political director at CBS News, host of the CBS News programme Face the Nation, top Washington correspondent, and political columnist for Slate.
The Hardest Job in the World: The American Presidency is Dickerson’s book. It was a “fair and analytical look of the growth of the American president,” according to Publishers Weekly. Additionally, he is the author of Whistlestop: My Favorite Stories from Presidential Campaign History, which was released on August 2, 2016, by Twelve, a division of Hachette Book Group.
During the 2018 midterm elections in November, John Dickerson made a few instructional videos for the Khan Academy. Dickerson stood in for a week (the week of May 13, 2019) on the CBS Evening News, following the resignation of then-anchor Jeff Glor. On July 15, 2019, Norah O’Donnell took Glor’s seat. Dickerson filled in for Margaret Brennan on CBS’ Face the Nation on September 6, 2020.
