About

Jordan Gilbert, known professionally as “n0thing,” was born on October 25, 1990. He is an American retired professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, analyst, and caster. Gilbert began his esports career early, winning his first LAN tournament at the age of 10. He gained prominence as a professional Counter-Strike 1.6 player, notably for the team Evil Geniuses, which he joined in March 2008. During this period, he was nominated as Best Newcomer from North America in 2008 and eSports Player of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. His performance in 2010 earned him the 11th spot in HLTV’s ranking of the top players, reflecting his leadership in ESEA League’s Invitational tournaments and high placements in Intel Extreme Masters and World Cyber Games events. Gilbert’s early career established him as a significant figure in the North American Counter-Strike scene, marked by consistent competitive achievement.

Gilbert transitioned to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, joining CompLexity Gaming. This team was later acquired by Cloud9 on July 30, 2014, where he continued to compete as a rifler/lurker. In summer 2015, his team reached the grand finals of three tournaments within a month. Following a roster change, he temporarily took on the in-game leader role. A notable moment in his career occurred in May 2016 during ELEAGUE Season 1, where he executed a clutch play against Luminosity Gaming, demonstrating his individual skill. In October 2016, Gilbert’s Cloud9 team became the first North American team since 2006 to win a major Counter-Strike tournament, securing first place at ESL Pro League Season 4 and a prize of US$200,000. This victory marked a significant achievement in his professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career, representing his first major international championship.

Beyond competitive play, Gilbert has created content, including a dance move based on in-game flashbang animations, which garnered attention. He has also produced instructional videos to help players improve their Counter-Strike skills, contributing to the community’s growth. In 2014, he was subjected to a swatting incident while live streaming, an event that received media coverage, including an appearance on French television. As of 2016, he served as one of the three player representatives for the Professional Esports Association. Gilbert’s career showcases a blend of high-level competitive performance, community engagement, and influence within the broader esports ecosystem.
