During his highly successful collegiate career, DeFalco garnered significant individual recognition, including AVCA Newcomer of the Year in 2016, and two AVCA Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2019. Building on his collegiate success, DeFalco embarked on his professional career in June 2019, signing with Italian team Volley Callipo. He quickly established himself as a prominent member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, having joined the squad in 2015 and making his debut at the Pan American Games that same year.
DeFalco represented the U.S. at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and earned a bronze medal at the 2019 FIVB World Cup. His international resume further includes a silver medal at the 2019 NORCECA Volleyball Championship, where he was recognized as Best Outside Spiker. DeFalco’s club career continued to flourish, moving to AZS Olsztyn for the 2021-22 season before joining Asseco Resovia for the 2022-23 PlusLiga season.
With the U.S. Men’s National Team, he secured back-to-back silver medals at the Volleyball Nations League Finals in 2022 and 2023. He also claimed a gold medal at the 2023 Olympic Qualifier and another gold at the 2023 NORCECA Continental Championship, underscoring his pivotal role in the team’s ongoing success. In 2024, DeFalco further demonstrated his impact, contributing to Asseco Resovia’s victory in the prestigious CEV Cup.
He then transitioned to the Japanese league, currently playing as an outside hitter for JTEKT Stings. His latest international achievement came with the U.S. Men’s National Team, earning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, solidifying his status as a decorated Olympian and a premier outside hitter in global volleyball.
