Jorge Fonseca

Jorge Fonseca is a decorated judoka recognized for his resilience and multiple World Championship titles. After securing a Gold Medal at the European U23 Championships in 2013, Portuguese judoka Jorge Fonseca went on to establish himself as a formidable competitor in the under 100 kg weight category. Representing both Portugal and Sporting Clube de Portugal, Fonseca demonstrated his competitive spirit early in his career, remarkably overcoming a battle with cancer in 2015. This profound resilience paved the way for his debut appearance at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, marking his significant entry onto the global stage.
