Júlia Bergmann is a popular German-Brazilian volleyball player who is a member of the Brazilian women’s national volleyball team. Despite still being so early in her career, Bergmann has already put her name on the map with some superb performances at international tournaments. She was a part of the Brazilian teams which won silver at both the 2019 and 2022 FIVB Nations League.
Coming from a background with two parents who played volleyball, Bergmann possessed a natural talent for the game from a young age. She joined the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets volleyball team in 2019 and led the team in kills as a freshman. During her freshman year, she was also named Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. In her junior year she was instrumental in getting the team to the 2021 NCAA tournament final eight, and was named an AVCA First Team All-American and ACC Player of the Year. She made her international debut at the 2019 FIVB Nations League tournament, and in the same year participated in the 2019 Pan-American Games. Prior to joining Georgia Tech to play collegiately, she had a successful run playing for the Brazilian side Brusque from 2016 to 2018, winning a gold medal in the 2016/2017 Taça Prata.
After emerging from college volleyball as a star player, Bergmann has become one of the hottest prospects in the sport as she now looks to continue her career playing professionally at the highest possible level. She is sure to be one of the most in-demand outside hitters over the coming years. She has over a hundred thousand followers on Instagram, a number that will undoubtedly grow exponential as she continues her rise.
