Juni Arnekleiv

Juni Arnekleiv, born on February 17, 1999, in Lillehammer, Norway, commenced her biathlon career early, making her World Cup debut in January 2022. Her international journey began with participation in the Youth and Junior World Championships, where she secured bronze medals in relays in Otepää (2018) and Lenzerheide (2020), and a bronze in sprint in Obertilliach (2021). These early achievements laid the foundation for her transition to senior-level competitions, demonstrating consistent performance and potential.

The 2023-24 season marked a significant turning point for Arnekleiv. Despite only having nine BMW IBU World Cup starts prior, she achieved her first individual World Cup podium in Sprint at Östersund on December 1, 2023. She further contributed to Norway’s success by leading the winning women’s relay team in Östersund and earning a second-place finish in the single mixed relay with Sturla Holm Lægreid. Her strong performances continued with another individual podium in Pursuit at Ruhpolding on January 14, 2024, and several more World Cup relay victories throughout the season. A career highlight during this period was winning the Single Mixed Relay with Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen at Holmenkollen on March 3, 2024.

Arnekleiv’s breakthrough 2023-24 season culminated in her finishing 13th in the Total Score, an impressive ranking for a rookie athlete. In the subsequent 2024-25 season, after facing initial challenges in World Cup events, she temporarily competed in the IBU Cup to regain form. She later rejoined the Norwegian A team to prepare for the 2025-26 season, showcasing her dedication and strategic approach to long-term career development.
