Marketa Davidova

Born on January 3, 1997, in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic, Marketa Davidova grew up in the Jizera Mountains, an area conducive to winter sports. From a young age, she engaged in cross-country skiing and horse riding. In 2010, she made the decision to pursue a career in biathlon, a sport that combines cross-country skiing with rifle shooting.

Davidova’s career saw her achieve significant milestones early on. At the 2016 Youth World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei, she earned a silver medal in the 3x6km relay and a bronze in the 10km individual event. She further excelled at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Otepää, securing a silver medal in the 7.5km sprint and a gold medal in the 10km pursuit. Her professional debut in the World Cup was in 2016, and she has consistently improved her rankings, achieving a career-high 9th overall in the 2022/2023 season.

Marketa Davidova has participated in two Olympic Games, making her debut at PyeongChang 2018 and later competing in Beijing 2022. A significant achievement in her senior career includes winning a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2020 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz and a gold medal in the 15km individual event at the 2021 Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka. She has secured four individual World Cup victories throughout her career, demonstrating her consistent performance at the elite level of biathlon.
