Kai Harada

Kai Harada is a Japanese professional competition climber who has competed in the Olympic Games and achieved multiple World Championship and World Cup medals. After transitioning to competitive climbing in 2015, Kai Harada quickly made an impact, finishing as a runner-up in the Youth A Bouldering event at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Arco, Italy. He continued to build momentum, securing a gold medal in Bouldering and a silver medal in Lead at the 2016 Climbing Asian Youth Championships in Tehran, Iran. Harada’s professional career escalated to the senior level with a breakthrough performance in 2018, winning the Bouldering discipline at the IFSC Climbing World Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.

Beyond the structured competitive circuit, Harada consistently pushes the boundaries of his sport, engaging in high-level outdoor climbing. This dedication was highlighted in July 2024 with a successful ascent of the formidable 8C (V15) boulder problem, ‘G-Master,’ in Rocklands. As a World Champion and Olympian, Harada continues to inspire and redefine what is possible in competition and outdoor climbing, making him a compelling figure in the sport globally.
