Kaitlin Olsen

Kaitlin Olson was born on August 18, 1975, in Portland, Oregon. She developed an early interest in acting and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon, graduating in 1997. After her collegiate studies, Olson relocated to Los Angeles to professionally pursue acting. Her early career involved training at The Groundlings Theatre in Hollywood, a renowned comedy training ground. She secured a spot in The Groundlings Sunday Company, which led to significant recurring roles in television.

Olson gained early recognition with recurring roles as Becky in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2000–2020) and as Traylor, Mimi’s nemesis, for two seasons on “The Drew Carey Show” (2002–2004). She further demonstrated her versatility by performing improv shows for U.S. troops on a USO tour in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Norway, alongside Drew Carey and other cast members from “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. Her career advanced with roles on series such as “Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show” (2005) and “Meet the Marks” (2002). Olson also had guest roles on “Punk’d” (2003), “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment” (2002), “Out of Practice” (2005), and “Miss Match” (2003).

Her breakout role came as Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds in the FX sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (2005–present), a role for which she is widely recognized. She has also taken on main roles in “The Mick” (2017–2018), where she also served as an executive producer, and currently stars as Morgan Gillory in the ABC crime drama “High Potential” (2024–present), also serving as a producer. Her filmography includes voice roles such as Destiny in Disney’s “Finding Dory” (2016) and CeCe Ryder in “Agent Elvis” (2023), alongside live-action film appearances in projects like “The Heat” (2013) and “Champions” (2023). Olson’s work has earned her multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including for “Flipped” (2020) and “Hacks” (since 2021).
