Kara Royster made her television debut in 2012, appearing in series such as ‘This Indie Thing,’ ‘Fred: The Show,’ and ‘Hollywood Heights.’ This early work paved the way for a pivotal period in her career from 2014 to 2017, where she gained significant recognition through recurring roles across popular youth and fantasy television genres. During this time, she portrayed Brandi in MTV’s ‘Faking It’ for six episodes, Yvonne Phillips in Freeform’s ‘Pretty Little Liars’ for seven episodes, and Abby Martin in Disney Channel’s ‘K.C. Undercover’ for eight episodes. Royster also appeared as Alicia Banes in The CW’s ‘Supernatural’ for three episodes and featured in ‘Liv and Maddie’ and ‘Scream Queens’ in 2015.
More recently, Royster has continued to expand her acting portfolio with significant roles in streaming and network television. From 2021 to 2022, she appeared as Eva in eight episodes of The CW’s ‘Dynasty’ reboot and as Janna Croft/Ghost Beam in two episodes of Netflix’s ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ in 2021. Her film work continued with leading roles as Jessica in ‘A Party to Die For’ and as Aaliyah in ‘The Christmas Clapback,’ both released in 2022.
