Young and creative filmmaker Karsten Runquist is a YouTube star, a content creator, as well as the co-host of the weekly Karstcast Moviecast Podcast. His social media output and coverage at major film festivals such as Cannes, TIFF, NYFF, and Sundance, have made him an influential figure in the online film community. His 2021 short film, Dirtbag, was named Best Comedy at the Big Fridge International Film Festival.
Illinois native Runquist is a writer, director and editor who graduated from Chicago’s DePaul University with a BFA in film editing. He began posting his work on YouTube, and his comedic film reviews proved so popular that he has now amassed over 510k subscribers. He also broadcasts a popular TV/Film podcast called Karstcast where he and his co-host Jeffrey Borislow have interviewed such notable guests as Elsie Fisher, Wyatt Oleff, Emma Seligman, and Demi Adejuyigbe.
