Kasey Hill is an American basketball player currently starring for Science City Jena in the German Basketball Bundesliga. His professional career to date has seen him play for major teams across Europe, including Hungary’s Alba Fehervar, Poland’s Wilki Morskie Szczecin, and another German side, Eisbaren Bremerhaven.
Hill was born in 1993 in the city of Umatilla, Florida. He endured a tough upbringing and was ultimately raised by his best friend’s parents after his own father was sent to jail. He overcame this troubled start, however, and was soon showing his extraordinary promise at basketball. During his senior year at Montverde Academy, he was named a McDonald’s All-American, taking part in the fast-food chain’s annual all-star basketball game that showcases the cream of American high-school basketball talent. He then attended the University of Florida, playing for their Gators team for four years. During his first year, he helped them to reach the Final Four.
In 2017, Hill graduated and immediately signed with Alba Fehervar in the Hungarian basketball league, who were then national champions. In his first season with them, they finished third in the league and competed in the Champions League and FIBA European Cup. He played with them for two years before moving to Germany for a season in their ProA league with Eisbaren Bremerhaven. He then spent several months playing in the Science City Jena, who had recently been promoted to the top-tier of German basketball and remains with them.
