There are few more legendary footballers than Kenny Dalglish, and as such he makes for a perfect personality to add real star quality to any event, function or sports award dinner you may be planning. Born in Glasgow in 1951, Kenny had a successful career spanning 22 years that saw him play for Celtic and Liverpool, winning many honours with both. He is Scotland’s most capped player of all time, having turned out 102 times for the side, as well as scoring more than any other player with a total of 30 goals.
Dalglish won many awards in his time including the illustrious Ballon d’Or Silver Award in 1983, the PFA Player of the Year in 1983, and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 1979 and 1983. He is often regarded as the greatest striker in post-war British football and in 2006 he topped a Liverpool fans’ poll of “100 Players Who Shook the Kop”. He has been inducted into Football Halls of Fame in both England and Scotland and won many League Cups, Scottish Cups, league titles and more besides. As a manager he was in charge of Liverpool, Blackburn and Newcastle United as well as Celtic, and was awarded an MBE in 1984. Patron of his own cancer charity, The Marina Dalglish Appeal, Kenny gives over a lot of his time to charitable causes and is an always interesting guest speaker and star studded host at any event.
