Kiera Austin

Kiera Austin, born on August 26, 1997, in Sydney, NSW, began her netball journey with the North Ryde Spirit junior club. Her early career saw her frequently selected for underage state and national teams, leading to a silver medal with Australia at the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup. Austin debuted in the Suncorp Super Netball league for Giants Netball in 2018, following her tenure as a training partner for Canberra Giants in the Australian Netball League. She played 29 games for Giants Netball between 2018 and 2021, showcasing her talent as a sharpshooter with accurate shooting and creativity in attack. In 2018, she was also selected for the Australian Fast5 team at the tournament in Melbourne, further establishing her presence in the sport.

Austin’s career experienced a significant turning point when she sustained an ACL injury in Round 1 of the 2021 Super Netball season, causing her to miss the remainder of the year. Following her recovery, she made a comeback and joined the Melbourne Vixens in 2022, where she has since played 65 games. Her return to elite netball was marked by her participation in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she earned a gold medal with the Australian Diamonds. Subsequently, Austin achieved another gold medal at the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, cementing her position as a key player for Australia. Her ability to return from injury and continue to perform at a high level demonstrates her resilience and dedication to the sport.

Throughout her career, Austin has maintained a strong presence in high-profile netball events and series, including numerous appearances in the Suncorp Super Netball seasons, Constellation Cup, Quad Series, and various international series against teams like England and South Africa.
