Kristin Skaslien

Kristin Moen Skaslien was born on January 18, 1986, in Trondheim, Norway. Her curling career began early, leading to multiple appearances at major international championships. Skaslien has represented Norway extensively, participating in nine World Women’s Curling Championships, nine World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, and sixteen European Curling Championships. Her career highlights include a silver medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and a bronze at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics in mixed doubles, both alongside her husband and partner, Magnus Nedregotten. She also secured a silver medal at the 2023 World Women’s Curling Championship and a bronze at the 2023 European Curling Championships.

Skaslien’s mixed doubles career with Magnus Nedregotten has been particularly prominent. Their collaboration led to a bronze medal at the 2015 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Sochi and a silver at the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Aberdeen. The duo qualified for three consecutive Winter Olympics, achieving silver in 2022 and bronze in 2018. The 2018 bronze medal was reallocated to them after a doping violation by their opponents, marking an unusual but significant turning point in their Olympic journey. Beyond the Olympics, Skaslien and Nedregotten achieved success in the 2018–19 Curling World Cup, winning the second leg and the Grand Final.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Skaslien has pursued a professional career off the ice. She holds an engineering degree in logistics from the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences and a Master’s in technology management from Trondheim Business School. These qualifications support her current role as a project lead/trainer at the Norwegian Curling Federation, where she applies her academic knowledge and competitive experience to further the sport. Before this, she worked as an operations analyst for a maritime company.
