Kush Maini

Kush Maini, born on September 22, 2000, in Bangalore, India, began his karting career at the age of 10 in 2011. He quickly achieved success, becoming the Champion in the 2011 JK Tyre National Karting Championship (Rotax Micromax) and the 2015 26° Trofeo Andrea Margutti (KF Junior). His early career also saw him secure the Vice-Champion title in the 2013 WSK Euro Series (60 Mini). This period of consistent performance across Europe and Asia established his foundation in motorsport. Maini transitioned to single-seater racing in 2016, competing in the Italian F4 Championship. He achieved his first car racing podium in 2016 at Vallelunga and continued to progress in the series, finishing eighth overall in 2017 with two additional podiums at Imola and Monza. His career advancement saw him move to the British Formula 3 Championship in 2018, where he secured third place overall with one win and eight podiums. In 2020, he returned to British F3 with Hitech Grand Prix and finished as Vice-Champion, securing three wins and 12 podium finishes.

Maini’s journey continued through F3 Asian Championship in 2021, where he achieved a podium in Abu Dhabi, and a one-off appearance in the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2022, he competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport, earning one podium finish in Hungary and ultimately placing 14th in the drivers’ standings. His progression led him to the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2023 with Campos Racing. During his debut F2 season, Maini secured one podium in the Melbourne sprint race and finished 11th overall. For the 2024 F2 season, he moved to Invicta Racing, achieving his maiden F2 win in Hungary and a total of five podiums. In October 2023, Maini joined the Alpine Academy, expanding his role to Test and Reserve Driver for the BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team for the 2025 season. He also holds a reserve driver position for Mahindra Racing in Formula E, a role he took on in November 2023 and will continue into the 2025-26 season. His F1 testing experience includes driving the Alpine A522 and A525, participating in the Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) programme, and representing the team at events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. For the 2025 F2 season, Maini will race with DAMS Lucas Oil, followed by a move to ART Grand Prix for the 2026 F2 season, continuing his dual roles with Alpine and Mahindra.
