Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson, born on February 10, 1995, in Coral Springs, Florida, began her golf journey at age five and competed by seven. Growing up in a golf-focused family, with two brothers who also became professional golfers, she was homeschooled, balancing her studies with intensive daily golf practice. Her amateur career included significant achievements such as becoming the youngest golfer at the time to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open in 2007 at age 12. She continued to break records, winning the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2008 and representing the victorious United States team in both the Junior Ryder Cup and Junior Solheim Cup.

Thompson turned professional in 2010 at age 15, signing a sponsorship deal with Cobra-PUMA Golf. Her professional debut saw her quickly making an impact, culminating in her first LPGA tournament win at the Navistar LPGA Classic in September 2011, becoming the youngest LPGA Tour winner at just 16 years old. This pivotal win led to her full LPGA Tour membership in 2012. Her career progression includes 11 LPGA Tour wins, including a major championship at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, making her the second-youngest woman to win a major at 19. She has also achieved two Ladies European Tour victories and one LPGA of Japan Tour win.

Throughout her career, Thompson has been a consistent performer, frequently ranking among the top golfers globally and representing the United States in multiple Solheim Cups and International Crown events. She won the prestigious LPGA Vare Trophy in 2017 for the season’s lowest scoring average and secured the Race to the CME Globe title the same year. Despite stepping back from full-time play at the end of the 2024 LPGA season, Thompson has maintained her presence in key tournaments, underscoring her enduring commitment to the sport and continued value as a public figure.
