Liam Rosenior made a significant impact early in his playing career, scoring the second goal in Bristol City’s 2-0 victory over Carlisle United in the 2003 Football League Trophy final. Having made his senior debut in the Football League Second Division in 2002 and scoring his first goal against Stockport County in December 2002, his capabilities as a midfielder quickly became evident. His performance led to a move to Premier League club Fulham in November 2003 for a fee of £55,000, where he transitioned into playing as a full-back or winger.
