Lilly Aspell

Lilly Aspell was born on October 23, 2007, in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. She spent her early childhood in Springside, before growing up in England, specifically in Richmond, North Yorkshire, and later Newmarket, Suffolk. Aspell comes from an equestrian family, with her parents, Donna Caldwell and Paddy Aspell, both being jockeys, and her uncle, Leighton Aspell, also a jockey. Her passion for show jumping began at a young age, around four or five years old, and she has since developed into an international-level competitor, aspiring to ride for Team GB.

Aspell’s acting career commenced after being scouted by a talent agent in London. She made her feature film debut in 2017, portraying Young Diana in the DC Universe film “Wonder Woman.” She reprised this role in the 2020 sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984,” performing many of her own stunts, which she attributes to her equestrian background. Beyond the “Wonder Woman” franchise, Aspell has appeared in other films, including “Extinction” (2018) and “Holmes & Watson” (2018). Her television work includes a role as Young Linda in the Amazon Prime series “The Pursuit of Love” (2021) and voicing Young Diana in an episode of “DC Super Hero Girls” (2020).

Her career continued with a starring role in the 2023 action film “Retribution,” alongside Liam Neeson. In 2024, she appeared in the films “Young Woman and the Sea” and “Here.” Concurrently with her acting endeavors, Aspell has achieved significant milestones in show jumping. In 2017, she won the Talented Showjumping Competition at Countryside Live and her team, Kildale Wonder Women, secured the Northern Show Cross Junior Team title. In 2022, she won the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds and participated in the Horse of the Year Show. In 2020, she became a Brand Ambassador for Theraplate, combining her acting career with her active involvement in equestrian sports.
