Magnus Ramsfjell

Magnus Ramsfjell was born on July 17, 1997, in Tønsberg, Norway. He later moved to Trondheim, which became his home club base at Trondheim CK. His curling career began with significant success in junior championships, where he demonstrated early leadership as a skip for the Norwegian junior men’s team. His tenure in junior curling included four consecutive appearances at the World Junior Curling Championships from 2016 to 2019, consistently placing Norway among the top teams. This early experience laid the foundation for his professional career, developing his skills in strategy and team management.

Ramsfjell’s career progression saw him transition from junior success to the men’s circuit, making his mark by winning the gold medal at the 2019 Winter Universiade. This achievement highlighted his capability to perform under pressure on a global stage. The same year, his team made their debut at the World Men’s Curling Championship, a significant step in their senior career. He continued to build on this, securing multiple Norwegian Men’s Curling Championships in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023. These national victories cemented his team’s position as a dominant force in Norwegian curling.

Beyond team events, Ramsfjell has also excelled in mixed doubles curling alongside his sister, Maia Ramsfjell. Their partnership saw them compete in the 2018 and 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, where they reached the playoff stages, demonstrating versatility across different curling formats. His consistent engagement in both national and international competitions, including appearances in the Grand Slam of Curling events such as the Masters and Canadian Open, underscores his commitment and presence at the highest echelons of the sport. Ramsfjell’s academic pursuit in electrical engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, alongside his demanding curling schedule, reflects his disciplined approach.
