Maisie Richardson-Sellers

Maisie Richardson-Sellers was born in London, England, on March 2, 1992. She comes from a family with a background in stage acting. Before starting her screen acting career, Richardson-Sellers pursued higher education at the University of Oxford, where she graduated in 2013 with a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology. During her time at Oxford, she was actively involved in theatre, participating in and directing several plays, including ‘Mephisto’ and ‘There Will Be Red’. Her early theatrical experiences also included directing a production of ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf’.

Richardson-Sellers began her professional acting career shortly after university. Her debut feature film role was a cameo as Korr Sella in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015). Concurrently, she made her television debut in a recurring role on The CW series ‘The Originals’ from 2014 to 2015 and again in 2017, where she played Rebekah Mikaelson and Eva Sinclair. She then took on a starring role as Michal in the ABC biblical series ‘Of Kings and Prophets’ in 2016. A significant turning point in her career was joining the cast of ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ in 2016, where she portrayed Amaya Jiwe / Vixen for two seasons before transitioning to the character of Charlie for seasons four and five, ultimately exiting the series in 2020. Her work extended to Netflix with starring roles as Chloe Winthrop in ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ (2020) and ‘The Kissing Booth 3’ (2021). Parallel to her acting, Richardson-Sellers began directing, shadowing on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and entering the Warner Brothers Directors Program, subsequently directing two episodes of the series. In 2021, she co-wrote and directed the short film ‘Sunday’s Child’, which received festival acclaim.

In recent years, Richardson-Sellers has expanded her creative scope further. She starred as Kathy Freeman in the political drama ‘The Undeclared War’ (2022) and as Billie in ‘Jagged Mind’ (2023). Her upcoming projects include a role in the ‘Untitled Insidious’ sequel (2026) and joining the main cast of ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ (2025) for its second season, where she will play Wolfie. In addition to her acting and directing work, Maisie Richardson-Sellers is the founder of Barefaced Productions, a production company established to support and showcase stories from marginalized communities and individuals. She is also an Amnesty UK Ambassador, utilizing her platform to advocate for human rights.
