Malaika Mihambo, an Olympic champion long jumper, solidified her status as a dominant force in athletics with a gold medal at the 2014 European Team Championships, where she set a championship record of 6.90 meters. Her athletic career began to flourish earlier, becoming the German under-16 heptathlon champion in 2009 and breaking the six-meter barrier in long jump in 2012, the same year she secured German Youth Championships titles and the German Indoor Youth Championship. In 2013, she earned a gold medal at the European Junior Championships in Rieti.
