Marcus Gayle was renowned for his versatility throughout his career. This trait enabled him to playat the highest level for over 20 years and ensured that he also represented Jamaica at international level. During his time with Jamaica he made 18 appearances and scored three goals.
He stayed in the game even after he retired by managing Staines Town for two years between 2012 and 2014.During his playing career he played 576 times and scored 75 goals. He was originally a forward, but he could also play on the wing and in central defence. He most notably played for Wimbledon between 1994 and 2001. During this time he made 236 appearances and scored 37 goals. He also ended his career at AFC Wimbledon in 2008 by making 21 appearances and scoring two goals.
He also spent time with Watford, where he made 102 appearances and scored five goals during his five year stay. In 2001 he played for Scottish giants for half a season and played on four occasions.Gayle also spent seven seasons with Brentford at either end of his career, and he is fondly remembered there as he was inducted into the Brentford Hall of Fame after making 230 appearances for the club. Away from the pitch, Gayle is the Board Member for Berkshire &Buckinghamshire FA. He also owned a designed clothes shop in London called 3 Tribes.
