Winner of 18 ATP Singles titles, Marin Cilic is more than just a professional tennis player of great skill and charm, he is also unwaveringly dedicated to philanthropy.
The Croatian national showed an early passion and natural talent for the sport and because there were no training facilities in his small town, Cilic’s parents build a tennis court for him in their back garden where he and his brothers could practice. By the aged of eight, Cilic had won his first trophy after making it to the semi-finals at a Ten and under tournament. It wasn’t long before local coaches noticed the extremely talented youngster and, after being encouraged to move to the capital Zagreb, Cilic went on to win the 2005 French Open Boys’ Singles Title. His success grew and grew, and by 2018 Cilic reached his career-high singles ranking of No. 3.
Away from the tennis court, Cilic established The Marin Cilic Foundation, a fantastic organisation which gives educational, sport and empowerment opportunities to youngsters from around the world, providing them with all the support they need to make their dreams come true. And due to his hard work and dedication to the foundation, Cilic was given the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award in the 2016 ATP World Tour Awards.
An immensely humble and proud family man, Cilic connects with his legions of followers via his own website, marincilic.com, and through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
