Mathilde Gremaud is a Swiss freestyle skier who competes for Switzerland at the Olympics and has won seven medals at the X Games.
Gremaud was born on February 8, 2000 in the city of Fribourg, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. 2017 was the year that Gremaud took part in the World Championships. At the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in 2021, she competed and won a silver medal in the Slopestyle competition. She competed in the women’s slopestyle competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics and ended up winning the silver medal. At the Winter X Games in 2017, 2019, and 2021, Gremaud earned the gold medal in the large air competition. In the year 2020, she competed in big air and slopestyle, and she won silver in both. She earned the bronze medal in large air in 2019.
In the year 2020, Gremaud made history by becoming the first woman in competition history to land a switch double cork 1440. Gremaud won the slopestyle event at the 2022 Winter Olympics, taking home the gold medal, as well as the bronze medal for big air. For the 2018 Winter Olympics, Swiss freeski coach Misra Noto Torniainen worked with Gremaud to prepare her for competition. In the future, Torniainen will serve as Eileen Gu of China’s coach during the 2022 Winter Olympics.
