Merle Dandridge

Merle Dandridge is an award-winning actress and singer with a career spanning Broadway, television, and video games. After making her Broadway debut in Jesus Christ Superstar in 2000, Merle Dandridge quickly established herself as a versatile performer across stage, television, and video games. Her early Broadway career saw her take on leading roles, including Joanne in Rent, Aida in Aida, and Lady of the Lake in Spamalot. In 2006, she originated the role of Kala in Disney’s Tarzan on Broadway.

She also currently appears as Zarina Killebrew in Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told, with additional recurring roles in FX’s Sons of Anarchy, CW’s Starcrossed, and NBC’s The Night Shift. Beyond her accomplished career on screen and stage, Dandridge is actively involved in philanthropic efforts. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Geffen Playhouse, a renowned Los Angeles theater, and for Harvest Home, an organization dedicated to supporting unhoused pregnant women. Looking ahead, Dandridge is set to join the Broadway cast of Hadestown as Persephone in 2025, further solidifying her status as a dynamic and multifaceted performer across all entertainment platforms.
