Michael Pierce

Michael Pierce transitioned from an undrafted NFL athlete to a prominent defensive lineman, known for his impactful play and leadership within the league. After demonstrating exceptional athletic capabilities at his Pro Day, recording a 10-meter split faster than many defensive linemen at the combine and a broad jump within the top 15 for his position, Michael Pierce secured his entry into the National Football League as an undrafted free agent. Pierce officially signed with the Baltimore Ravens on May 3, 2016. In his rookie 2016 season, he showcased immediate impact by playing in all 16 games, accumulating 35 tackles, two sacks, and one pass defended.

Despite suffering an elbow injury in Week 4 that year, which placed him on injured reserve, he was activated later in the 2021 season before his release in March 2022. Returning to the Baltimore Ravens, Pierce signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract on March 17, 2022. His 2022 season was unfortunately cut short by a biceps injury in Week 3, necessitating season-ending surgery. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and dedication, Pierce made a strong comeback for the 2023 season, reclaiming his crucial role as the starting nose tackle for the Ravens.

In January 2024, Pierce further solidified his commitment to the Ravens, signing a two-year, $7.5 million contract extension through the 2025 season. A significant highlight from his 2024 season included recording his first career interception against the Cleveland Browns, an achievement that distinguished him as the heaviest NFL player to record an interception since at least 2000. Michael Pierce announced his retirement from the NFL on March 12, 2025, concluding a distinguished nine-season career defined by impactful play and leadership.
