Michelle Kroppen

Michelle Kroppen, born on April 19, 1996, in Kevelaer, Germany, began her archery career in 2004, making her international debut in 2013. A student residing in Kevelaer, she is coached by Viktor Bachmann. Kroppen has achieved a world ranking of 11 in Recurve Women, demonstrating her skill and dedication to the sport. Her career includes 5 World Cup stage medals and 1 World Cup Final medal, alongside significant achievements at World Championships and Olympic Games.

Kroppen has a distinguished record in major competitions. At the 2018 European Archery Championships in Legnica, Poland, she earned a bronze medal in the women’s team recurve event. She continued her success at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus, where she secured a bronze medal in the mixed team recurve event with Cedric Rieger. Her performance at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo included winning a bronze medal in the women’s team event, in addition to competing in the mixed and individual events. Kroppen also participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics, reaching the quarterfinal in the team event and the third round individually, and securing a silver medal in the mixed team event.

Her career further highlights include a silver medal at the 2021 European Archery Championships in Antalya, Turkey, in the women’s team recurve event. At the 2022 European Archery Championships in Munich, Germany, Kroppen achieved a silver medal in the women’s individual recurve, a gold medal in the women’s team recurve, and another silver in the mixed team recurve. In 2023, she won a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal in the mixed team event at the World Archery Championships in Berlin. She also earned a bronze medal in the mixed team event at the 2023 European Games in Kraków-Małopolska, further cementing her status as a leading archer.
