Nicholas Galitzine

Nicholas Galitzine was born on September 29, 1994, in Hammersmith, London, England. His father, Geoffrey Leo Alexander Galitzine, co-founded a glass recycling company and previously worked as a financier in the City of London. His mother, Lora Maria Konstantina Papayanni, is Greek-American. Galitzine attended Dulwich College, where he played rugby, track, and football, initially aspiring to a professional rugby career before injuries shifted his focus. He later gravitated towards acting after being encouraged to audition for a musical.

Galitzine made his professional acting debut in the 2014 film “The Beat Beneath My Feet” alongside Luke Perry, portraying a lonely teenage boy with musical aspirations. In 2015, he appeared in an episode of the TV series “Legends” and was recognized as a “Star of Tomorrow” by Screen International. He took on diverse roles, including a young violinist in “High Strung” (2016) and a closeted gay student in the Irish comedy-drama “Handsome Devil” (2016), which garnered a nomination at the 15th Irish Film & Television Awards. His early career also included roles in Netflix’s “Chambers” in 2019 and the drama film “Share” (2019).

His career saw significant progression with a series of successful projects. In 2021, he starred as Prince Robert in Amazon’s “Cinderella” opposite Camila Cabello, contributing to the film’s soundtrack. His role as Luke Morrow in the 2022 Netflix film “Purple Hearts” marked a breakthrough, with the movie becoming Netflix’s most successful film of 2022 and its seventh most popular film of all time. More recently, in 2023, he earned further recognition for his performances in the comedy film “Bottoms” and the romantic comedy “Red, White & Royal Blue.” The latter became Amazon Prime Video’s number one movie globally during its premiere weekend. In 2024, Galitzine starred in the historical psychodrama series “Mary & George” and alongside Anne Hathaway in “The Idea of You,” where he also provided vocals for the soundtrack. He is set to star as He-Man in the upcoming 2026 film “Masters of the Universe.”
