Novi Brown’s story begins on two continents. Born in Berlin, Germany, she spent her earliest years moving between Germany and the United States, an upbringing that shaped an adaptable, observant performer. She trained at the City College of New York and honed her craft on stage, appearing in theatre productions of “The Vagina Monologues,” “Dutchman,” and “Boston Marriage” before ever facing a camera.
Her first screen role came in 2014 with the made-for-television film “My Dad’s a Soccer Mom.” The breakthrough arrived in 2019, when Brown began starring as Sabrina Hollins in the BET comedy-drama series “Sistas,” a role that made her a familiar presence to television audiences and anchored her profile in the industry.
In 2022, Brown demonstrated her range across three leading film roles: the horror thriller “Alone in the Dark” for Tubi, the romantic comedy “The First Noelle,” and the holiday comedy “Holiday Hideaway” opposite Vivica A. Fox for BET+. She has since continued her screen momentum with the feature film “Fabricated,” working alongside director R. Malcolm Jones and a cast that includes Lil Mama and MC Lyte.
From New York theatre stages to BET and Tubi screens, Brown has built a career on versatility, moving fluidly between comedy, romance, and thriller genres while taking on leading roles in film and television.
