David Jackson is better known to thousands as American DJ O.G.One, one of the busiest and most respected professional DJs currently working in America. Based in the Pacific Northwest, he has been spinning tunes and getting the party started for over 20 years and is currently the official DJ for NBA side the Portland Blazers. As a commercial and corporate DJ, he has shared stages with the likes of Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, Damian Lillard, and Mike Phillips. He has also performed at the Superbowl and NBA All-Star Weekend. DJs don’t come with much better track records than that!
Jackson’s upbringing and adult life have taken him the length and breadth of America—before settling in Portland, he grew up in Virginia and California. His involvement in gang culture was mercifully brief but it’s a life experience that he uses to give back through his work as a “leadertainment” personal and professional development coach. His activism in this area has won him several awards, including the Police Activities League Unsung Hero Award, the 2019 Hip Hop Honoree Award, the KPTV Oregon 12 For Kid’s Sake Award, and the Indiana University Center for Philanthropy Achievement Award, and many more.
When he’s not picking up awards, packing dancefloors, or DJing with major celebrities, O.G.One is also a producer and is a strong presence on the Portland hip-hop scene, working with many of the city’s finest up-and-coming artists, including Dame DOLLA, Cool Nutz, and Jarrod Lawson. He has also recently released two well-received albums, Testimony and The Rise of the Rose.
