David Jackson, known professionally as OG One, has established himself as a prominent figure in the music industry and community for over 25 years. He is recognized as the official DJ for the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, a role he has held for 17 seasons, and has performed alongside notable artists such as Dua Lipa, Rihanna, and Jay Z. Beyond his DJ work, OG One is a music producer, having collaborated with various musicians and released his own projects, including “Testimony” and “The Rise of the Rose.” He is also the CEO of One God Productions Inc., co-founder of Portland’s Hip Hop Week and Portland Black Music Expo, and founder of The Hip Hop Collective PDX.
OG One’s career progression includes transitioning from a DJ to a producer, speaker, and community activist. His work as a producer has resulted in placements for companies like Adidas and the independent film “We Nation.” He has produced music for artists including Dame D.O.L.L.A., Bosko, and Cool Nutz. His recent releases include “Better Dayz” (2025), “He Never Let’s Me Down” (2025), and “H.O.L.L.A. Cypher” (2024). In addition to his musical endeavors, OG One is a public speaker, sharing his life experiences to inspire youth and adults. He has dedicated himself to community activism, focusing on breaking cycles of crime and despair, drawing from his own upbringing in Watts, California.
His commitment to community and leadership has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2019 Best of Portland Award for DJ & Music Production, the 2019 Hip Hop Honoree Award, and the 2012 Emerald Award. He also received the KPTV Oregon’s 12 For Kid’s Sake Award and the Police Activities League (PAL) Unsung Hero Award for positive mentoring. OG One’s personal journey, including overcoming stage three colorectal cancer and subsequent physical challenges, further informs his motivational speaking.
