Ozwald Boateng

Ozwald Boateng is a British fashion designer known for his trademark twist on classic tailoring and bespoke styles, pioneering a modern approach to menswear on Savile Row, and achieving widespread recognition for his innovative designs. After making history in 1994 by staging his debut catwalk presentation during Paris Fashion Week, becoming the first tailor to achieve this milestone, Ozwald Boateng went on to define a modern approach to menswear on Savile Row. Having established his first studio in Portobello Road in 1991, and mentored by industry luminary Tommy Nutter, Boateng leveraged this early success to open his signature boutique on Vigo Street, Savile Row, in 1995. His distinctive twist on classic tailoring and innovative designs revitalized the historic street, successfully attracting a younger, contemporary clientele and profoundly influencing the trajectory of modern menswear design.

He also contributes to the REACH committee and is a co-founder of the Made in Africa Foundation, leveraging his platform for broader social impact. Boateng remains a leading figure, consistently pushing boundaries in design and culture.
