Pau Gasol

Pau Gasol is a respected former NBA player, two-time NBA champion, and six-time NBA All-Star, known for his philanthropic efforts as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and co-founder of the Gasol Foundation. After securing the Spanish National Cup in 2001 and earning Tournament MVP honors, Pau Gasol made his professional debut with FC Barcelona’s senior team, also contributing to their Liga ACB championship victory that year. His international career began to flourish as he led Spain’s national under-18 team to win both the 1998 Albert Schweitzer Tournament and the 1998 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. Gasol’s talent swiftly garnered NBA attention, leading to his selection as the third overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, with his rights subsequently traded to the Vancouver Grizzlies (later Memphis Grizzlies).

Following his time in Los Angeles, Gasol continued his distinguished NBA career with the Chicago Bulls (2014–2016), San Antonio Spurs (2016–2019), and Milwaukee Bucks (2019). He later returned to his roots, joining FC Barcelona in 2021, where he secured another Liga ACB championship. Beyond his celebrated NBA journey, Gasol boasts an exceptional international career with the Spanish national basketball team. He led Spain to a FIBA World Cup title in 2006, where he was also named MVP of the tournament.
