Paul Walsh is an English former professional footballer. He played as a forward, making over 500 league appearances for clubs in the English Football League and Premier League and scoring 127 goals over a seventeen-year career. He represented England on the international stage, featuring at youth level, under-21 level, and senior level, earning 5 full caps and scoring 1 goal. He now works as a television pundit, regularly appearing on Sky Sports and other stations.
He began his career at Charlton Athletic after coming through the youth ranks. He helped Charlton to win promotion from the Third Division, also earning himself a place on the PFA Team of the Year before moving to Luton Town where he was named PFA Young Player of the Year. He signed for Liverpool FC and was named in the PFA Team of the Year, winning the league title and the Football League Super Cup in his debut season. He later helped Liverpool to the league title and FA Cup double, also reaching several finals, before moving to Tottenham Hotspur FC, where he won the FA Cup. After a brief loan spell at Queens Park Rangers he moved to Portsmouth FC, where he was voted Supporters Player of the Season and named on the PFA Team of the Year. He played for Manchester City before a final spell at Portsmouth, where he eventually retired due to injury.
After retiring from football, Walsh became a football agent for a short time, representing Lee Bradbury during his move to Manchester City. He has since enjoyed a successful career in the media, regularly appearing as a television pundit on shows such as Soccer Saturday and Football First.
